The change

We were approached by the Seymour family to help them raise awareness of their special centenary anniversary, to research and tell their one hundred year story and help them acknowledge all those who had made it possible.

Our solution

Orchid was asked to plan and deliver a year-long campaign celebrating the Seymour Group’s centenary that would inspire, give thanks, build trust and celebrate. It was the perfect brief – researching and telling a hundred years of incredible story, spanning five generations. Following a research and interview process with family members, staff and loyal guests, we planned and produced a collection of content that would help bring the Seymour story to life.

Having created the centenary brand marque to feature across all collateral and communications we then embarked on production of their centenary video, microsite with timeline, articles and archive material. A magazine was written and printed in time for the start of the season,  supported with in-hotel branded centenary collateral (featuring on everything from door hangers to wine labels, lapel badges to centenary teddies). A PR campaign engaging national, regional and trade press was planned incorporating key anniversary initiatives including the launch of a centenary bursary and the Seymour100 community orchard.

Thankfully much of the campaign material launched just before the borders closed and Covid-19 restrictions hit. We have no doubt that this successful family-owned business will once again rise from the ashes in the same way they did when finally liberated from Nazi occupying forces in May 1945.
